Biography
"I started painting when I found that I did nothing creative in my work and that was just plain wrong. As I discovered my love for painting, my main focus in my work is color, which prompted my shift from watercolors to acrylics. I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I have in creating them."
Ruth Ochia is an exhibiting artist in the Philadelphia area. Her work focuses on landscapes, based on her many travels around the country and internationally, and still life paintings. She began painting 2007 learning through books, various and short classes workshops, and practice. She now studies with
Ana McCormack in the ADM Gallery.
Ruth Ochia was born in Washington, D.C. and now lives in Drexel Hill, PA. She has a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD, and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. She currently is faculty at Temple University in the Department of Bioengineering.
